Calley is classically trained as both a violinist and vocalist. At age seven she was introduced to the violin and was formally trained at the Hartt School of Music. She performed in numerous orchestras and choral groups throughout her high school years.
Early on Calley's attentions focused on the music of her Celtic roots, and she experienced traditional fiddling first-hand thanks to some fine musicians from Ireland, Canada, and near her home in New England. Calley's eclectic style draws on her classical background, however it is the age-old art of learning "by ear" that is most prominent in her playing. Calley has also won numerous awards for her competition fiddling.
With her heartfelt singing of traditional ballads and her electrifying fiddling, Calley's performances are engaging and have a wide appeal with live audiences. Now a college student, her presence on stage is both energetic and poised, having logged some 300 live performances in over 10 years as a musician. With a repertiore that relies heavily on traditional song, as well as Cetic rock arrangements of tradtional Irish and Scottish tunes, the appeal of her live shows is truly inter-generational.
